Rush is the period where fraternities and sororities welcome prospective members. It’s a time to learn about Lambda Chi Alpha, meet brothers, and experience fraternity life firsthand
Who is eligible to join Lambda Chi Alpha?
To join, you must:
- Be enrolled full-time (3.5 or more courses) at a post secondary institution.
- Identify as male, as our fraternity is open to men.
- Embody character and values that align with Lambda Chi Alpha’s mission.
What is Lambda Chi Alpha all about?
Lambda Chi Alpha is more than just a social organization. We engage in campus events, road trips, and social events with sororities, while fostering leadership, scholarship, and friendship. Beyond undergrad, our network supports members throughout their lives, offering professional connections and a sense of belonging in chapters across North America.
Is it expensive to join? Isn’t it like buying friends?
Membership dues are used to fund activities, events, and house maintenance. We invite those who are a good fit for Lambda Chi Alpha to join, not based on financial contributions but on compatibility with our values and brotherhood.
Is this just a U of T thing?
No, Lambda Chi Alpha is international, with chapters across North America. Established in 1909, our fraternity has a long legacy, with prominent alumni who have excelled in various fields.
Why aren’t fraternities recognized by the university?
Like many fraternities, Lambda Chi Alpha is privately organized and not officially recognized due to its single-gender membership policy. Despite this, we are a diverse group, welcoming members from all backgrounds.
Do you have a frat house?
Yes! Our house at 152 St. George Street is equipped with everything from a game room to a DJ booth. Brothers are welcome to use the space freely, whether for studying, relaxing, or social events.
What kind of commitment is required?
While members set their own level of involvement, all are expected to complete associate membership and initiation processes. Weekly chapter meetings are held, which allow members to stay connected and involved.

Associate Membership
We do not have "pledges" we do however offer an associate membership period, this is an opportunity to learn about the fraternity, meet brothers, and contribute to the house. It’s a time to connect and prepare for full membership.
Drinking
Our fraternity respects individual choices regarding alcohol. Whether you drink or abstain, Lambda Chi Alpha promotes responsible behavior and mutual respect.
Academic Life
Lambda Chi Alpha values academic success. Members support one another with study groups, shared resources, and guidance from those who have taken similar courses.
